Virtual Session
Emily DiLeo, PhD, MLIS
Research repositories have become a standard for research teams. They are not easy to implement, in part because they require a particular set of skills derived from the principles of information organization. The training that librarians and archivists receive revolve around these principles: access points, effective description and curation. A “knowledge management mindset” can transform your thinking about research repositories. In this session you’ll learn how to:
★ Construct an organizational system for your research, based on a single point of access
★ Apply the principles of archival description to your research deliverables, in order to create access
★ Reflect on and assess your current practice of curating research knowledge
Emily came to UX from ethnomusicology and library science. She brings a deep knowledge of ethnographic research and applies her background in archival theory and practice to knowledge management in UX research.
